Carla Grande is a Grierson-nominated director and cinematographer drawn to reframing global conversations through domestic settings. Originally from Spain, living in London, she brings a cross-cultural perspective to stories shaped by more than a decade filming across Latin America, the U.S., Europe, and South Asia.
TELEVISION
She has directed, produced, and self-shot films for Netflix, BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, and Discovery - specialising in archive-led features and character-driven series.
Her recent credits include global hits like Depp v Heard [Netflix/Channel 4, 30M+ views], which reached #1 in 88 countries; Poisoned [Channel 4, Sheffield Doc/Fest], an investigative series made in collaboration with The Times; and The Twister [Netflix, 7M+ views].
Independent
On the independent side, Carla is currently directing her first documentary feature and is in post-production on a short shot in the American South. She blends vérité, archive, and animation to create parallel worlds - using colour and texture to hold onto the unsaid.
Her work has screened at BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying festivals including London Short Film Festival, GAZE, and Folkestone Documentary Festival.
